Cagliari Elmas airport Sardinia

The Cagliari Elmas airport, inaugurated on May 3, 1937, is situated near the town of Elmas and it is the island's largest airport for passenger traffic, projecting Sardinia towards its natural Mediterranean central position.

With its modernisation during the last decade, the Cagliari Airport has become one of the most modern and efficient airports at the national level. The terminal is arranged on 3 levels:

  • The first one called "Arrivals" is designed for national and international arrivals. On this floor, there are also some offices including post office, car rental and first aid areas.
  • The second one is the "Check-In Area" and "Departures", designed for departures with more than 40 desks for check in and about 6 gates. There are also airlines ticket offices, a lot of eateries and shops.
  • The third one is the "Office Area" which accommodates the offices of Public Authority, airlines, a panoramic restaurant and a business centre.

The terminal includes and integrates itself into the surrounding environment with its glass surfaces and the presence of white limestone, especially used for local constructions.
The soft colours of the entire terminal building reinforce the strong appeal to the island's peculiarities and help to create an environment that is extremely comfortable and welcoming.
